January 4

I can't say that I really enjoy math anymore...not sure if I could say it at all before :) At least in the past it didn't interfere with riding. Now, so many of my days are stuck inside doing...you guessed it MATH! Even though I didn't get to ride today I still found reason to appreciate every second I have with my horses. It's scary to think that I've been around horses practically all my life and I just recently found out what amazing creatures they are. I mean everyone always says that they're wonderful and all that, but who really stops to think about how much of a gift they are??? You don't always think about how they make you feel better on a bad day, or how flying couldn't be any better than riding a horse. Amazing creatures? Yeah right, they're magical. There's a reason they catch everyone's attention, and why those of us who work with them adore them to death :) Cause everyday with horses is a wonderful day.

Horses have personalities just like humans. I'm pretty sure that's a big reason I work with them. One horse can be more playful than the next, or more willing, harder working, or more fun! It's hard to have a favorite horse because you like them each for their own individual personality. And unlike their human owners, horses remain pretty constant in their views. A real treat when the outside world is throwing thunder storms at you :) Unfortunately my video upload hasn't been working at all!!! So try to envision this scenario :) I just like saying that every day's exciting and new with horses.

So today my dad, sister, and I decided to have a very loooong day. Fox hunting is always eventful and today was no exception. Losing riser pads, jumping through creeks and over logs, and getting lost in the woods is all very...ordinary. After coming home and feeling like I was going to pass out, Abbey (my sister) decides she would like to ride her new horse. Well, that truly means that I need to go ride the horse for the first time and try not to die :) It went better than planned and I'm really glad I got on him, because he is one fur-ball of fun! So, just another day with horses.
